Yosemite from Above

Today we did some serious hiking along trails that follow the ridge line of several mountains that overlook Yosemite Valley.  It was another spectacular day.
First we hiked to Taft Point where there is a great view of Yosemite Falls.
Then we hiked across the valley to Glacier Point.  Sadly the power was out and the kids weren't able to get the ice cream we promised as a reward for their hard work.  After our initial disappointment, we had a great conversation with the kids about Murphy's Law.
After lunch we trekked back up the mountain to the top of Sentinel Dome with its breathtaking views of both Yosemite Valley and the Sierra Nevada Mountain range.  Along the way, Thane took time to hone his photography skills.
Mountain climbing is Jordan's thing, and we were definitely in his happy place.  Over 9 miles in all, it was an exhausting, but exhilarating, day!
