North Yosemite

Today we traveled Yosemite's northern route.  It was a long drive, but it was completely worth it.  First we hiked the beautiful alpine meadow at Toulumne.  Along the way we stopped at a sulfer spring where we got to taste naturally carbonated water.
We also walked along the river that runs through the meadow.  Thane was thrilled to find some sizeable trout in the pristine water.
After we hiked out to Dog Lake, where the kids swam in the freezing cold (but refreshing) water.
We really enjoyed this part of the park, which was still busy but much less crowded than other places we've visited.
We're so glad that we got to visit this majestic park.
