Getting WYO'd!

One of the things that we most looked forward to doing when we moved to Sheridan was going to the fabled Sheridan Rodeo.  This popular event was canceled last year due to COVID, so it was with great anticipation that we attended this year's children's night with friends.  The York family came to visit us from Maine, and they were also more than a little excited to watch the games.

First we got to watch the Indian horse racing event, which involved various teams riding around the track 3 times.  At the end of each lap one team member would jump off and another would jump on and run bareback around the arena.  There was some pretty impressive riding, let me tell you!

There were trick riding shows and the standard junk food to be enjoyed, and we also watched the bucking bronco, barrel racing and calf roping events.  But the main event was saved for the end - the bull riding competition.

Only 3 of the riders actually made it to the 8 second mark that night, but all of the rides were pretty crazy.  Everyone attending agreed - it sure was great to be back in the proverbial saddle!
